our 34 wc has no temp gauge, on left side of motor a few inches to the front of tractor by the carb is a removable threaded plug. the parts store told my dad, not being 12 volt, (IS MAGNITO) that nothing will work, does anybody have solution, thanks

Tom, Norm has the answer, The temp gauge mounts on top of the radiator through the hood, there should be a threaded hole on top near the place where the radiator hose comes in, I just put a new one on my WC, you should be able to find one from one of the parts suppliers on this site, Got mine from Restoration Supply Co. 1-800-809-9156 part no.AC064 , Johnny

Ithink you are describing the drain plug for the block (about 1/2 inch pipe thread?) You may want to try looking for a capulary tube type thermometer used on hot water type heating systems and small boilers. The operating temp on my WC's is around 170-200 deg.F .The trick is to find a thermometer with a small sensing bulb that's not too long and operates in this range. The good news is, they do not need any electrical power . I don't have my catologs here to give you a part number,but a good plumbing supply house will help you. Good luck Dee
