WD Oil-fill cap

Did oil-fill cap on WD and WD45 have any kind of vent on side and are the caps the same? The one on my WD is dented badly and has a hole on side. I think hole was caused by being dented but did not want to repair and close until sure. There is breather on high (taller) valve cover on this WD which is probably off a 45. #&%$ happens.

My wd has two oil filler caps, one on valve cover and one on right side of engine right in front of mag. or dist. If you look on under side of cap you will see a bunch of little holes and see what looks like steel wool inside I clean mine out once a year with solvent. That is where your venting comes from. Hope that helps you

I don't belive there a vent in the oil filler cap.
Mine is vented through the value cover,(cap vented on pipe on value cover).

Gentlemen, I appreciate your helpful information about fill-cap vent. I will assume that venting is on top of valve cover and not also through cap that is located in front of mag. Thanks again.

Norm, You've got it right. All too often, people (myself included) forget to service the "real" breather on top of the valve cover because it's "out of sight/out of mind.
