Ran across a D-15 diesel,series II for sale
on a dealers lot,never saw one before.Does
this thing have any value as a collector
tractor? Anyone know production numbers?

Ray do you remember what they were asking for it and the specifics of the tractor? Wide or narrow front, 3pt or 2pt, tires,paint power steering? I was almost going to buy one last year that was in the southern part of my state. The block was all cracked up and needed to be replaced. It couldn't be welded up anymore. It was a narrow front without powersteering. A series II with good sheat metal and paint but poor tires. He wanted $2200 before he had $600 worth of fixin done to the injector and nozzles. So $2800 for one that ran but with a bad bad block. Another one I saw advertised in MN that was completely restored and he wanted $6000. If it's paid for and no bill collectors beating down your door you can ask whatever you want. Doesn't mean anyone will buy it but you never know. The regular D15 gas models I've seen at auctions have all brought $3500-$4000.

Boy, Sounds about like the same tractor.Narrow
front,snap coupler hitch,but they were missing,
older repaint,still looked pretty good,some
rust on the fenders above the tool box.Block
had been replaced,not painted,pump had been
rebuilt.In western ohio.

The guy that had the one with the cracked block and narrow front I mentioned was near Milwaukee wisconsin. He did haul it to Ohio to have the injector work done. But last I knew he brought it home. He said he found an engine from an HD3 crawler to put in it. He said the other engine cost was going to cost him something like $1800, just for the engine. So he's got about $4000 in it and it still needs paint and tires. Still narrow front without powersteering too. He mentioned that that is rarer than a widefront with powersteering, but I'd prefer ps.

from Wisconcin.
