Another chapter in the ongoing battle....I am in the process of rebuilding a wd45 as sort of a working restoration. So far this forum has been invaluable, Hopefully somebody has an answer to my question. The tractor as I got it had no wheels or rims, motor stuck, and had not been moved in 4 years. On the plus side it was inside those four years, and it was free $0 . I rebuilt the motor from scratch, converted to twelve volt, added 16.9x26 rear rims and tires (off a combine I think) re-installed the power steering and got everything basically back the way it should have been. So, it runs and moves PTO works Hyd. ummmmm makes a lot of noise and the rams won't go down. problem #1 Big problem #2 is the foot clutch (see, I finally got around to it) Heres what my tractor is doing. All the gears work great with the hand clutch. Foot clutch does nothing. Gears grind, cant get it into gear, when it is in gear, you drop the clutch and nothing. yank the hand clutch back, and she takes off. Starting it in gear the tractor will move forward a foot or so, fire up, and stop rolling. Also, I can pop the hand clutch forward, shift gears, yank her back and move along in the new gear Dunno how all of this is possible, but that's what it does. Is the clutch frozen to the flywheel? Do I have something waaaay out of adjustment? I rebuilt the motor in the tractor didn't seperate it from anything. Somebody suggested chaining it to a tree and popping the hand clutch Sounds like a great way to break something expensive or wind up dead. Any thoughts would be helpful...thanks
