I have just purchased an AC CA. The transmission jumps out of 3rd gear. What is involved in fixing this problem?

at one time Allis tried an angle cut on 3rd gear. It will pull but after some wear it will jump out when coasting downhill. If yours jumps out when pulling you need to replace the gears involved. $$$$

Dale, Don't use third gear this way it will only cause more damage.You will have to split the tractor,
inspect all spacers and thrust washers in the transmission. Third gear and shift collar may both need replacing also.I had to tear into my
45 not too long after I bought it and found the culpret to be a bad thrust washer in the back end of the top shaft. This let everything float back not allowing the shift collar to engage completly. I have a 51 CA my dad bought new and it's had 3rd gear replaced in it also. Good luck ,the CA is a great little tractor. c tucker
