AC C hard steering

I have a C with narrow front that not only wobbles in 3rd gear like another wrote but also steers very, very hard. It seems to turn harder the longer I mow (maybe it's because my hands begin to hurt!). The linkage is OK until it disappears into the front end. What do I have to do to fix it? I must either get it fixed or sell it. Any tips out there? (Yes, we've added grease to the front support but it makes no difference.)

disconnect the stearing arm from the shaft comeing out of the stearing box. You can then turn the stearing wheel back and forth to make sure it is not hanging up in the gearbox. then jack up the front of the tractor and see if the front wheels will chuck up and down in the front pedestal and also check to see it turns while jacked up. If you have a bad bearing in the pedestal you will have to remove the radiator and the radiator mount that covers the access hole to the nut and gear. You will have to lift the tractor real high or remove the pedestal to get the shaft out to change the bearings. I suggest that you remove the front pedestal. Only four nuts. All of these jobs take time but not bad after you get into it. You wont have to sell the tractor. CT Farm sells the bearings and seals and I am sure others do also.

Sorry I was thinking of another tractor, You dont have to take the radiator off or raise the tractor high to remove the front pedestal. If the front tires are off the ground two inches it will roll out. In a week or so I will post pictures.
