Has anybody used a radiator without the cooling fins on the core tubes.The steel fins on my 44WC are flaking off badly,many tubes on the first two passes are bare. I guess what i'm really asking is , how much efficiancy (cooling) do I lose by scrapeing off the rest of the fins? The copper radiators on my other WC's don't have this problem. TNX Dee

Bama,
Lots! If the radiator is still working ok, I'd just keep using it 'till it gives out then either have it recored or replace it. I would not remove any fins. It would overheat pretty quickly without them.
