I have a Allis C that has a shock asorber type seat. it looks orginal and mounts with the axle housing bolts at the differential. I was under the impression that the C only came with aa wide seat and the shock type seat wasn't used until the CA came along. Can anyone enlighten me on this?

The seat with shock is not factory, but was made by an after market company for the b and c. a lot of owners bought them because it made it easier to get on and off and also rode better

You are right. The shock seat was never put on the C in production. I have on too though. I have picked up all the hardware to put it back to the original seat. This particular one also has a front end from a B and modified drag link to mate the two.

Is it possible that on yours, someone bolted up a CA rear end from the transmission back?
