CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT MODEL NUMBER OF FAIRBANKS MORSE MAGNETO WOULD BE CORRECT FOR A 1946 ALLIS CHALMERS C? MINE HAS A DISTRIBUTOR ON IT, AND I WOULD LIKE TO CONVERT IT BACK TO THE MAGNETO.

Bob, I recently had to do some work and replace some parts on the mag on my WC, I spent almost $300 on the Fairbanks Morse parts, I only have about $600 in the whole tractor! so you might want to do a little research before you swap. God Bless, Johnny

A distributor works ok. They had an after market distributor that went on in place of the mag without changeing any other parts. If you ordered one with the distributor it had a governor assembly with a longer shaft. I have both type and they work good but you have to have a good battery. With a mag you don't need a battery unless you don't want to hand crank or want lights
