I just bought a 1960 (at least according to the serial numbers it's a 1960!) Allis Chalmers D17. I also received the 3point adapter for it, but from looking at it, cannot tell how to install it. I know I need to take the drawbar off the tractor. Can anyone provide any assistance? If you have any diagrams you could email me, that would be wonderful. If you know of any reources I can conact, that would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

i own a d-17 myself with the 3 point attachment, and yes you have to take the draw bar off and slide the d-ring (as i call it) from the attachment and slide it into the housing, where the draw bar was in, and connect the 2 arms to the couplers of the tractors 2 point, then i made a bracket under the seat to mount the 3rd arm.

my d17 has one where you take the drawbar off and slide the hitch into the snap coupler and the 2 arms hook to the jaws on the 2 arms above which should have a 2 piece clamp with a spring on it. picture your left hand in the C shape ,now make your right into a fist and stick it in the left. same prinicple . mine also has a top point for the hitchwhich is bolted on under the seat. i prefer this over the other one i had because this one doesnt tie up the snap coupler and can come off easy to plow oer cultivate . good luck. hope this helped! =)

Do you know of anyone with an original Allis- Chalmers 3 point conversion kit with the top-link bracket that fits under the seat? I need one for my D17 1966 Series IV. Thanks in advance.
Gary
