Hello there folks Sorry for the first post my screw up. I just bought a 1939 b and 2 c AC for 600 $$ the b has a rebuild mag no electic start. The Cs have electric start and hydrolics one runs and the other has a craked block from freezing they come with a 1 bottom plow . Did i pay to much ? i want to use them for mowing Can the parts of the C be used on the B. Electric start would be nice, Also what differences do these tractors have? they are all wide fronts. Thanks for the help Jaime Jolicoeur. I would really like a A mcormick if sombody is interested in trading?

Jamie,
You did well! The parts may interchange, but there were differences and some parts don't.
Basically, the B anc C are similar, but the C is wider (C is a two row tractor, the B is a one row). The B usually has the non-adjustable wishbone front axle and the C is either tricycle or adjustable wide front. Other than that, they look almost the same. They do have the same engine and trans. Taking the parts from one of the electric start C's can make the B an electric start, but it will be a LOT of hard work. My B is hand crank and usually starts with just a couple of pulls, even in colder weather.

Phil

Yes you can. The torque tube for the B and C are the same except for the taped holes for the stearing suport bracket for the C. If you wanted to go the other way and use a B torque tube on a C you would have to drill and tap the two 1/2" 13 holes.

An adjustable wide front was a factory option for the C's. The C's have a wider final drive housing and as I stated above the C's have a support braket at the front of the torque tube for the stearing shaft. The C's have concave cast wheel centers that bolt to an axle flange. The B's have a flat cast wheel center that slide on a splined axle and is held in place with one round nut with flats to tighten it on.
