1973 Oliver 1365 (same as 5050 AC) with CAV system. Hard to start. Accelerates a little slowly. Runs OK after start. Occassionaly will go dead if trottle down rapidly. Does not smoke at all. Used to smoke normally. No blowby. Fiat built. Fuel Filters have been changed. No skipping/missing. Any ideas appreciated. TIA

Have you checked your lift pump screen? Take the top screw out and take the cap off. There should be a small mesh screen that filters the fuel. It has a by-pass hole that will allow some fuel to pass through but will limit the fuel flow so that your tractor might be starving for fuel. hah!

Ed:

Have you checked the fuel flow coming from the tank to the fuel lift pump? I have found in the past that these tractors tend to develop blockages at the fuel cutoff valve at the tank and also at the banjo fitting on the line coming from the tank to the lift pump. Removing the blockage usually solves the problem. Good luck.

Gordon
