I need to pull the mag on my 1943 WC, where is the engine timing mark ? is there a maqrk on the magneto also ? TNX Dee

The easiest way that I have found is to crank the motor by hand untill the impulse coupling trips, then turn it just a bit further (about an inch at the handle) this will get you to a position that the impulse coupling will not impeed getting it back on in time. Take the rotor cover off and note its position. Mark the flange of the mag and the housing with a slight chisel mark and remove the mag. When reinstalling, turn the mag backwards, so you don't have to fight the impulse coupling, until the rotor is in the noted position, line up the drive dogs and start the bolts. Line up the chisel marks a tighten it up. If you were in time before, it will be correct again. Can't tell you where the timing mark is for sure. If you can't find this information, adjust the magneto so that the impulse trips just after top dead center and it will run great. Make sure the engine doesn't get turned while the mag is removed.

what to do when magneto is installed and running.timing marks don't line upwith light.
