Friend has an old WC for sale $650. Crank start, overhead valve engine, hand brakes, loose shifter lever, rear pto drive box hanging down below transmission - but no shaft to rear, does have flat belt pulley. he says it's a 1934 and start good (crank wasn't available when I looked at it). Question: does this sound like a good deal? for a tractor to play around with, use to pull wagon, plow, etc. oh, also, someone Made rear wheel weights using concrete, they might be removable, they are pretty nice job.

what would think?

If its all there it would part out for more than $650. I just paid $300 for a set of fenders because they are so hard to find. Of course I do realize that I have more in my WC (actually 2 WC's) than they are worth if I were to sell them.Restoring most old tractors is like restoring a 50's four door sedan--only do it as a labor of love because your going to get burned if your trying to make money.

Seems a bit high. What is the rubber and wheels like? Almost all of them have been rusted out. That PTO deal is a minor problem. I've seen a lot fo shafts and rear carrier bearings in junk yards. For that kind of money, it better run great, have good rims, and have fenders and straight tin. The WC isn't worth much, even good, because it has no hydraulics at all, no live PTO, and those goofy hand brakes. Might be worth that much, but for another 2 or 3 hundred, you can get a WD with live PTO and hydraulics and a snap coupler.
