I would like to add power steering to my WD45. Are there kits available, and if so where would I find one.

Can you tell me how your modified power steering works. What did it cost and did you have a kit or did you have to scrounge it all up? What did the paint cost? Thanks, Bob Conner

Peter,
I went back and found the post on the WD45 P/S and posted it below. The pump came off of a Ford heavy truck and has a remote reservoir instead of it being part of the pump. The steering "motor" is Char-Lynn and still available for around $300 from Char-Lynn, but according to Dana, the owner of the WD45, it is cheaper form other sources. The rest is assembled from custom built hoses and a Honda transmission filter. It looks like a great setup and Dana says it works great too.

Phil

Peter, I dont know about custom kits, but there was a restoration link left at unnofficioalallis that concerned the use of a torque amplifier and a pump from an old car. It was a very clean looking job. The link was left about 3-5 days ago, Good luck
