Help, I bought an allis chalmers 160, planning to fix it up in my spare time, turned out the hydraulic pump is missing. I have purchased a hydraulic pump,a plessy pump, unaware that it did not come with the gear. Can anyone tell me where I can find a gear for a 2073315 plessy pump.

Chip, I'm dealing with the same situation. It's not going to be easy to find the parts to rebuild your pump. You may see that I've put several posts on this site asking for the same info. Here's what I've found about the 160 hyd pump: Apparantly they came through with a pump made by either Plessey, or Airequipment. Mine has the Airequipment pump. AGCO can sell you a seal kit for the Airequipment pump (P/N 72074356), but this kit is no where near all the softwear you'll need to rebuild the pump. In fact, it doesn't even contain the shaft oil seal. The shaft oil seal needed is a fancy one, with a garter on each side. The AGCO dealer can't sell you the shaft seal you need if you have the Airequipment pump. There are some seals available for the Plessey pump, because I was incorrectly sold a shaft seal for one. This shaft seal won't fit the Airequipment pump shaft in case you're wondering. After going this route, with no success, someone on this site mentioned a AGCO dealer they thought gave great service. They are Southwestern Equipment in Virginia. I gave them a call. They have an aftermarket pump for the 160 for $289.99, or a new one for $533.99. There is a 90 day warrantee and no parts available for the aftermarket pump. He says the aftermarket pump will bolt right up (no modifications needed). I ordered one last week. They're at [email protected]. Jim Desmond has helped me out there.

A junk yard in Ohio has a used pump for $275.00 at 888-852-4601.

Fluid Power International (1-800-844-4385, [email protected]) looked promising as a place to get parts or have mine rebuilt, but the numbers stamped on my casing didn't mean anything to them. I didn't speak to them in person - this was done by email - you may want to "pull this string" further to see if it gets you any where. Local hydraulic shops drew blanks with getting softwear for this pump.

Let me know if you want a further report on my new pump when it gets here. If you find a way to rebuild
