Help with an alternator

I have a WD allis with an autolite alternator. The regulator has 4 terminals marked: I, A, S, F
The alternator has terminals marked: Stat, FLD, Bat, grd and another that looks like it is just a ground also. How do I wire this thing up? HELP!!!!! !!!!! !!

I just so happen to have a copy of part of a Ford manual with that diagram in it. Instructions with no indicator lamp (idiot light): "I" is not connected to any thing - insulate it. "A" goes directly to the battery +. "S" goes through ingition (on/off) switch, and then the other side of the switch goes to battery +. "F" goes to "FLD" (field) on the alternator."Bat" is the output from the alternator, and should be connected directly to battery + with relatively heavy wire. A 10 guage wire would work well. Don't hook the "Stat" on the alternator to anything. "Stat" used to run the electric choke on the car. The case of the alterntor is grounded, so don't connect anything to the "grd" terminal. If you have an ammeter: Connect the ammeter between the "Bat" terminal of the alternator and the battery +. The rest of the hook up is the same. If you have an indicator lamp, the hook up is slightly different: From the "I" teminal, connect to the indicator lamp. From the other side of lamp, connect to the ignition switch. From the other side of the ingition switch, connect to battery +. Then, connect the "A" terminal on the regulator directly to battery +. The "S" terminal on the regulator goes to the "Stat" terminal on the alternator. The "F" terminal goes to the "FLD". Did you get all that? If not, write back here, or E-mail me and I will scan the diagrams and send them to you. Hope this gets you out of the woods...
