I have put my CA back together and now find the hand clutch does nothing. I didn't tear that down. Any ideas what may be wrong?

I'm really getting to like this little tractor!!!

Do you mean the tractor won't move? Or do you mean that it doesn't stop the tractor?

I mean the tractor does not stop. Just dpoesn't seem to have any effect but does offer resistance and feels like it means well!!!

I would think that it is rusted and wont open up the clutch or the clutch surfaces are rusted fast. Before taking the right side final drive off, try in 2nd gear jaming down on the left break with quick jabs while pulling back on the hand clutch. It wont hurt a thing and might break it lose. Your problem is just the opposit of most CA's. If you were close I would offer to swap with you. I have been thinking of putting a right side shaft in and removing the clutch all togather.

The previous owner may have bolted the hand clutch together to keep it from slipping instead of repairing it. My "CA" was done this way.

Your probably correct, I have been told that with the hand clutch that I should not expect more than 70 to 80% of what the tractor would pull without the hand clutch.
