I was looking at a 1938 Allis Chalmers Model B in South Central Pennsylvania. It resides in a tractor shed for over 7 years and hasn't run for this long. I can't find any prices concerning this tractor. Does anyone know a ball park price.

Greenhorn and Dick L are both correct. The value of a tractor varies a lot with the location, conditon, and the value one puts on his labor to make it as he wants. I just picked up a '38B for $400. It is complete, but apart. Basketcase some would say. Parts tractor others would say. But with as little help from me as possible, my two boys age 10 and 11 are going to put it back together. Hard to put a price on that.

You are correct, no way you can put a price on memorys that your boys will have long after your gone. Have fun, thats what it is all about.

The only way you could put a price on that is if they start but don't finish and leave you with a jumbled mess to get rid of, lol.

I just bought a 1938 "B" last week for $1,100. It came with a belly mower. It's not running but only needs minor work on the magneto to get it running. It was recently painted, but the owner did a lousy job (it looked like a paint bomb exploded near it). I also had to pay to have it shipped 700 miles. BUT, since I'm going to do a total restoration, all that matters is that all of the pieces are there. Are you getting any implements? That would increase the value. If it has a (rare) adjustable front end that would raise the value as well. Hope this helps.

It sounds a litle high to me but it depends a lot on what happened to it in the 55 years before it sat for 7 years. If it never set outside, was only used for a few hours a week in the summer through its entire life, has orignal paint with no scratches or rust, and no oil leaks showing any where. 1000.00 could be cheap.
