D19 motor in a D17 tractor?

I have noticed a couple of posts of people mentioning a D19 motor in a D17 tractor. The gas D19 motor is six cylinders and the D17 is four. How can a D19 motor fit? The d19 motor would seem to long. Is this possible?

If you start with a D17 diesel, then a D19 motor motor will bolt right in. If you have a D17 gas, then I think you need different motor mounts and maybe frame rails, hoods and radiator. But don't quote me on that!
