Need help on baler problem! My friend has a NH 270 he broke a needle on right side I replaced it. The baler had sat in the barn for two years before this, after I put new needle on it bales ok? but miss ties on first few bales and gets better the longer it bales but it still misses on left or right side, not constantly on either side.It may bale fifty or more before it miss ties it may miss left one time then right. Any suggestions

Been a while since I worked on knotters, it could be thin spots in the twine, could be something cutting the twine, sharp edge, on twine disc or holder. We had a 276 that missed now and thenn if you run the rpms to high try to push it.

Our baler will cut and tie on one side but not the other. I am out of options on adjusting the darn thing. Any ideas?????

Hey, Don't have my manuel here at work, but sounds like knotters need good cleaning and adjusting by the book. If you don't have a manuel, get one. Take compressed air and blow everything off around the knotters. Take the manuel and start from the beginning and get everything set as close as possible to what the manuel says. Check the brass balls on the top of the twine knives/stripper arms and the castings that they run against. make sure the balls turn freely and that they do not have flat spots on them. make sure the castings don't have serious grooves in them.
