I am looking into buying a 1955 wd 45, the tractor slips out of third gear. The other gears hold fine. Could this be a major problem? How might this be fixed or adjusted. Also the throttle and hydraulic quadrant is broken away. Where might I find this part? Thanks for any help. Craig

It's not a major problem but not having third gear is annoying as 3rd is a good field gear. To fix you need new parts in the trans. or replace with a used unit. The good news is it won't affect the rest of the gears. This was a weakness with many AC models. A transmission can be found for around 300 dollars. A throttle/hydraulic quadrant should fetch 25 or 30 bucks used. The tractor is worth 300 less because of this problem.

:Mr. Orangeman, Thank you for your advice and help. I hope I can negotiate a fair deal for the WD 45.
