Allis Chalmers friends: At our high school we are restoring a 1945 Allis C. We rebuilt the engine and it purrs! However, the two wires coming off the generator were cut and lead to nowhere.Where do we take these wires to? Also, where do the two wires go to coming off the 6 volt coil? Obviously the tractor has a distributor. Thanks so much!

Your generator wires are as follows; the A terminal goes to a cutout relay mounted on top of the gen. The relay has only 2 terminals with one to the gen, the other to the battery. The second post on the gen is marked F and goes to the switch box. The light switch controls the rate of charge. With the switch in all the way, lights off and low charge. Out 1 notch, lights on low charge. Out 2 notches, lights off high charge. In the event your switch is bad, the F terminal can be grounded and it will be the same as high charge. The coil terminals are marked + and - . Since the tractor is supposed to have a positive ground, connect the + post to the distributor points and the other to the ignition switch.
