1. What are headbolt torque specs for 1951 WD and how in the @*#$** do you get a torque wrench on those two little buggers under the water manifold.
2. Will a WD pull three 14's in light sandy soil??

I use an AC Snap cpupler 3/14 on my 1948 WD in sandy loam with no problems. No fluid in the tires but have AC wheel weights on it.

The WD should pull a 3-14 plow OK especially in light sandy soil. The Snap Coupler plows and such work really well with the Traction Booster introduced on the WD.

Tom,
Head bolt torque for the WD is 70 ft/lbs. Try removing the water manifold, or is it part of the head?

Tom,
To tighten the two headbolts under the thermostat housing I used my crowfoot wrench with a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter to attach to my torque wrench. There was not much room so I got them as close as I could with a regular open end wrench first. I don't know if this is the right way or not but it worked for me. Good luck, Mike.

I put 3 washers lubed with grease on the housing studs, without the housing, then torqued head in increments to spec. When done, just remove the housing nuts and washers, install housing, and tighten with 3/4 in. wrench just shy of over tightening and ruining the paper housing gasket. Carroll
