I installed an after market 3 point on my 1948 C model. I bought a 4 foot Woods Rotary Cutter. It's about 400 to 500 lbs. It lifts it easily. If I knew it would lift so well I would have bought at least a 5 ft or maybe a 6 footer. I also use a 6 foot box scraper, again I think about 500 lbs. It works great. It was a snap to install. Everything fit perfectly. Purchased from Don & Carol Van Eaton; C & D Equipment; Butler, MO; 660/679/4762, 660/679/4754. Great people to work with. I don't know how I lived without a 3 point.

Yes, I would install one again. You have to remember, I use my tractor. It mows and it moves snow for me. Plus misc. other things. Mine is a "working" tractor. There are many others who just "show" their tractor, and that's fine. A 3pt. makes it so much more
functional. There are limitation to the hitch also. A Ford 3pt will pick up about 750lbs. I think mine will max out at about 500lbs. If you want to pick up 1000lb bales of hay, it might be difficult. I've picked up a 3pt scoop with my brother in it for weight purposes, and it was tough for the old girl. The scoop weights about 200lb and my brother about 250lb.

If you have any other question, let me know.

Dave
