Paint scheme on rear wheels

The restoration on my "B" is going great! I mounted the engine today and I'm planning on painting within the next couple my weeks. My question is about the color on the wheels. I am confident that the front is solid orange but I've seen several different schemes on the rear wheels including solid and a silver band. What would be correct on a 1941? By correct I mean as it came off the assembly line. Thanks in advance.

In one of the club newsletters I get, there was an interview with a man who worked for A-C in the factory. If I remember correctly, the tractor was built except for the wheels and everything was painted orange. Even the carb, hoses, plugs, wires, and mag. All orange. The wheel centers on the rear were orange and the rims were galvanized. This is the way I remembered it. If I can find the article I'll send it to all those interested. Brian

If you go down on this page to the on-line book "The little AC's", he says the early B and C's had all orange rims.

Terry,
Your B should be all Persian Orange #1 except for the following. Steering wheel rim and gearshift knob (if there is one), hoses, belts, rear rims (the center hubs and clamps should be orange), muffler or exhaust pipe, battery cables and wiring (if any) and of course the tires. The rear rims were originally galvanized, but most folks just paint them aluminum silver. I personally have seen several tractors with the rear rims painted "argent silver" as on pickup factory bumpers and it looks better to me than the aluminum silver, but that's a personal preference. The argent just looks a little more like the original galvanizing. The rims could be re-galvanized if you want to be a 100% points show tractor, but the cost will be a lot more than painting.
Send us some pictures when you're done!
