If all of your ignition parts such as points, condensor, cap, rotor, plugs, and wires are all in fairly new or good condition you won't have to look much further than replacing the ignition coil. It is not uncommon for coils to open up a winding when hot, then when the coil cools, it works again! Make sure after the tractor looses spark to put a circuit tester probe onto the negative side of the coil with the wire lead of the test light grounded to the engine, and spin the motor over. (The test light should light brightly, then go out as the points open and close!)If this does not happen, you have possible problems with the points and condensor, or even power to the entire ignition system altogether!
Good luck with it!
Rick

Mine did that, condenser was bad, cheaper way to start than a coil.

We stock the coil & we rebuild mags or exchange
them. We also have the OEM Allis right angle
conversion from mag to distributor-used $85
plus $50 for used distributor.
