WD45 hand clutch

I have a 1953 wd45 and i think the hand clutch is going out. If I disengage the hand clutch with the tractor still in gear,it still tries to pull.Not at full power but you can feel it pulling.Ive checked the linkage on the lever and it seems o.k. Is it going out and if so how much would you estimate the parts to cost. Thanks

Don't be too concerned about it. That is pretty normal. That is an oil bath clutch and when the oil is cold and thick it does "creep". It should not creep however if you have a wagon or decent drawbar load on it or wih the brakes applied. Ours tended to creep a little even when hot and baling with a roto-baler.

my wd-45 does that sometimes if its not pulling anything or i haven't used it in a while, put it to work and it should go back to normal, goodluck

Don't be too hasty in tearing it apart. When those tractors are cold and you pop the hand clutch in first gear, even at an idle, it is quite normal that the tractor will still move on level ground. Try this and if the brakes won't stop it, then think about adjusting it. These clutches were very touchy to set up so the tractor stopped completely with no load.
