Hi everyone, I have a model C and a model B. I want to put the wide front thats on the model B onto the model C. The C is a 1947. I don't know the year of the B. Does anyone know if the front ends are interchangable on these tractors?

I have performed this swap, both ways. THe C and B radiator shroud is different - the C unit will work on hte B but not the other way. Steering boxes and links must be swapped also, they run in opposite directions. After you pull the front support there's a 50-50 change the front cover will leak, but I personally take the chance if there is a stud not a bolt at the front center oil pan location (holds the timing cover back against the block). I've never been able to remove the steering wheel without messing up the shaft, so your best bet is a complete wheel / box / tin from the B. Figure it all out, and then it'll take about 2 hours if everything goes perfect. Good luck and don't forget to adjust the steering to center on the B setup after installation.

They bolt onto the front of the engine block and both engines are the same as far as the location of the studs. It will work fine but the rear wheels will be wider than the front wheels unless your B has an adjustable front. If you try to plow with it and can't get the rear wheels to track the front wheels you won't be able to keep the tractor straight. If all your going to use the tractor is for yard work it will work.
