I've seen in the past, post for something to coat the inside of a rusted gas tank. Can anyone tell me where to purchase it, or someone that does this coating close to me. I'm in Minnesota, about 40 miles west of Minneapolis. thanks, Darrell

Got my kit from The Eastwood Co.(www.eastwoodco.com) They have two kits, one for small tanks and one for large, I got the large because I've got a dual-fuel and wanted to be sure to have enough. It's a very good kit, Has an etch, wash, & coating. Wasn't cheap, but not a job I wanted to do twice !!

I also used the Eastwood kit and was very happy with it. It is a long (full afternoon) process but the results are excellent. I will use this kit on my next rusty tank!

I had my Ferguson tank cleaned and relined at a local radiator repair shop. It cost me $75.

I have used Bill Hirsch Gas Tank Sealer in my antique cars and been very satisfied. If your tank is real bad inside take it to a chem strip shop and have it dipped first. Then apply the sealer to fill and seal the pin holes! There # is 1-800-828-2061 or www.hirschauto.com (located in NJ)

I bought a kit (three part), 1) for cleaning, 2) neutralizing, and 3) coating a tank at the local motorcycle shop for $26.00 U.S. The kit will do about a 9 to 10 gallon tank. It includes complete instructions. jack

I just ordered sealer from Lee Pedersen, 78 Taft Ave, Lynbrook NY, 11563. I haven't received it yet
so I can't vouch for its effectiveness, but he
says its alcohol resitant so it should work even with ethanol blended gas. He sells it for $18.75 a pint and $24.75 a quart. I don't know how much
area a pint or quart covers. Robert's Carb Repair in Spencer, Iowa also offers a tank sealing service. You send them the
tank, and they will seal it. Their sealer is baked on and can be applied inside and out. It's
more expensive, but it is a permanent fix.
