Just got an old Model C. The tractor no. is C61648. Can you guys tell me where I can find out what yyear it is? Also, what is the deal with the big belt dive pulley set at a right angle to the PTO? And, I'm sure I don't have this right, but, is that a power hydraulic fitting coming off at an angle on the other side of the PTO? What do each of the two controls do that are next to the seat? The guy I got it from knew even less about tractors than I do. Thanks for any help with these dumb questions.

Paul, your C is a 1947. The belt pulley was used to power equipment before PTO's got real popular. It sounds like you have the hydraulic pump on your C, so yes, that is where you hook up the hose for the cylinder. The two levers by the seat, one controls the engagement/disengagement of the PTO/belt pulley, and the other is your hydraulic raise/lower lever. the hydraulic cylinder mounts to the seat bracket on one of the 3/8" posts that stick out off of it. If you want I can send a picture of the cylinder so that you can see what it looks like. Let me know, and I hope this helps you out,Darrell
