WD Head torque

I recently purchased a WD and am installing a head gasket. I have no repair manual. Can anyone suggest haw many foot pounds the head should be torqued at? Thanks for the help.

1/2" studs: 70 Ft.Lbs., 3/8" studs: 25 Ft.Lbs.

I don't know where you are getting your torque specs from but the Allis service manual that I have used for the last 24 years calls for 90 Ft. LBS. on the 1/2" studs or bolts and not 70. I don't want to be critical but I just want the man to get the right information. Have a good day.

Gordon, The I & T manual clearly says 70 in paragraph 66. If this is a misprint, someone please clarify. There's a pretty big difference there!!!

My WD, WD45 and d14 book has 70 and 90 with 25 on the 3/8". I would go for the 90 using the torque pattern.

I did get my info from the I&T manual. If I ever find a genuine A-C service manual at a reasonable price, I'll surely buy it! Dave, is that 70# initial and 90# retorque after warm-up? Brian G.
