I would like to know all of the Gleaner combine series that will interchange engines with WC-WD-WD-45 tractors. I would prefer gas engines-201 cid or 226 cid. Thanks for any information that you can give me.

Hi, The guys haven't given you very much technical information of the swap. The G-226 will bolt to a WD bellhousing. The G-226 uses 1/2 bolt to hold on several timing gear cover bolts. where the w-201 uses 3/8's. Bore out the 3/8's holes to 1/2". You need the WD timing gear cover. Use the WD oil pan to get rid of the combine motor's hose. The hole in the crankshaft that the front pulley is aligned with is 5/8" to far forward compared to the 201. To align the belt you need a 5/8 spacer behind the water pump. The 201 sheeve is not bored all the way thru. I think a 1.5" hole saw will bore it out. It's soft cast. The water pump on the G-226 is bolted on with 1/2 bolts where the 201 use 3/8. Bore out the holes again. The 201 flywheel will bolt to the G-226 crankshaft. The combine uses a fuel pump you won't so you need a block off plate to seal the hole up. After you get the thing in and you have a sharp running WD you will find out the 226 will wipe out the single disc wet clutch of the WD. Then you need to find a wd-45 wet clutch or elimanate the wet clutch. That should do it.

An engine from an 'E' gleaner will work. These are
later style engine like from a late model D17. They have better oiling system than older engines.
