Here's a good tip for anyone installing piston rings in a "G". As you know the rod ends are too big to go through the cylinder bores, and must be R&Rd from the bottom. Removing is easy, going back in is another story! The bottom of the bores are chamferd 45 degrees, and the manual says put them in from the bottom. There is barely room for your fingers let alone any tool. Heres what to do. Install oil rings only, as they will easily go in. Push piston through far enough for top ring grooves to show, install compression rings, tap down. It works!!! Marv

I have never worked on a G. I keep looking at them so one day I might. Thanks for a great tip. That is one tip I won't forget. Thanks again.

If you would use a ring compressor that would let you install pistons and rings all togetter.
