D17 Hydraulic Problem

I am new to AC tractors and I have a question. I have a D17 Series IV and I have been having problems with the hydraulics. The pressure is been slower and slower to bulid. Finally, there is very little pressure to list my bale spike. Does anyone have any suggestions? If it is the hydraulic pump, where is it located? Are AC hydraulic pumps easy to find? Thanks for any help.

check oil level on top of tranny left side funny looking plug

Checked the level on the other side. It checks fine. Could it be the pump? If so, where is it located? Is the part available?

Thanks. I will check first light on the morrow. BTW. If the level is low, how can I fill? Does it use the same fluid as the regular hydraulic unit? Also, is this a seperate level then what is on the right hand side? That level is showing normal.

There are two different compartments: The one on the left has the hydraulics; it has a dipstick in it. I'm sure you will find you are low on oil. A generic hydraulic oil, 10 weight non-detergent, or the Allis Chalmer 851 (I think) hydraulic oil will all work. I've had a Series IV for years and love it. Good luck. My typist (wife) is awake this time, so I could give more details.
