I am restoring a 1955 wd-45 and where the bull gear housing bolts on to the axle ther are supposed to be eight bolts four on top and four on the bottom, the bottom four are gone, so the wheel and bull gear housing rock back and forth , has anyone ever had to replace these bolts? If so how do you get into the housing to do so? Any help will be appreciated,

Larry, the four fasteners on the bottom are studs that are screwed into the bull gear housing. lf they are gone they either worked loose an fell out or they broke off from access axle loading like falling off a truck bed , l have seen that before. You may have to dissassemble the axle and weld nuts to the broken studs to get them out. Hope this helps. Ben
