I'm looking at buying a CA. I would like some information before buying: such as years made, HP, things to look for, and what it might be worth. It has not been run for a couple of years, but has been under cover. I'm particularly interested in knowing more about the two point hitching system on this tractor and if it is a problem to use and get implements for. Thanks.

My father converted my grandfathers CA to 3 Point Hitch, due to not being able to find AC impliments in good shape to go with it. The three Point cost either eight or nine hundred dollars but was well worth it. The CA is kinda hadycapped due to being very light. But if you have any hay to rake, you'll love the CA. The back wheels are short, and you can turn your windrows right around, and even though the tractors arn't power steering, they are so light you'll never miss it. I just dont like them for utility work. However they are great for mowing pasture with the belly mower. Make sure your final drive clutch is working{ the big lever beside the seat on the right}, and if you use the PTO at all, get an override shaft for it. I love the CA, and it was the first tractor on my granddads farm. I do recommend 3 point conversion however. Good luck Greg H.

A 3 point type hitch can be added to a CA without too much problem. This gives you more choice of 3PH impliments. My opinion, 3ph and 3ph impliments is the way to go. I use my CA 4 days a week and it has a home made 3ph. There is a wt. limit on what you can lift with it, I'm guessing around 400 lbs. or so. I had to go 3ph system because the 2 point hitch equipment was pretty worn out or converted all ready, in my area.

The CA was made from 1949-1958. 25 horsepower. If the hydraulic system works, you should be able to use implements fine. Implements are around if you look for them.
