I have recently bought a d17 it seems to run fine when you first start it up and run it fo about 30 minutes and it starts to sputter and not want to run unless you choke it to keep it going but it dosent run right. also when you shut it off and not turn the gas off it wants to leak out is that normal or could it be the float making the problem another thought might be elctrical problem . thanks for any input

Pg,
Make sure the fuel system is clean from the tank through the carb. Since you can choke the engine and keep it running, it sounds like fuel starvation. The leaking after shutdown sounds like the needle valve isn't sealing off the flow of gas into the bowl.
