Has anyone found an aftermarket shock absorber that will replace the seat shock on a D17. I know a ring for the spring will have to be made.

Roger,
I have been told by several folks that NAPA can cross reference these shocks to a Monroe number and get them for us. Might be worth a try. You may have to help the counterman if he's a young guy and not into checking for these things. Some guys don't seem to be willing to help, but if you are persistant you should be able to find someone willing to help.

I ordered an after market shock for my Series IV from Sandy Lake Implement. Should arrive this week. Cost about $80 plus shipping. That's real close to the $75 price tag A-C quoted when they still carried them in 92. My old one still kinda worked back then but if I'd known they would be discontinued I would've bought one anyway.
