Rear wheel on a B

I'm replacing a rear wheel on my B due to worn splines. Upon removal I found a number of washer shims on the axle on both sides of the wheel. Should they be there? I couldn't find them in my parts book.

Steve,

If you have the standard wheel and axle, I don't think that any shims should be on the axle. It sounds like someone who owned the tractor before was trying to take up the slack of the worn splines with the shims.

I have never seen shims on the outside of the final drive.
