THE 50'S VINTAGE AC'S HAD A HIGH PRESSURE HYD PUMP. CAN THE COMMON CYLINDERS PURCHASED IN A FARM SUPPLY BE USED WITH THESE OR MUST YOU USE THE ORIGINAL CYL?

You can run the newer cylinders, but don't stroke them to the end. You can blow the seals out of them and do other bad things. The newer ones also take more oil and will function slower, since the pump was high pressure and low flow.

The pump does not know the difference inthe cylinders. If you have or get some of the same length/size with the same mounting and of the above tractor output pressure they will work, In fact later style rings and wipers are better than the old leather that some had. You can more than likely get modern seals, rings and wipers that will fit your cylinders and pistons if the bore is not worn out.
