My Allis CA is missing -seems to be in the front
cylinder. Have changed spark plugs, rotor, dist.
cap and wires, still is missing. Started this
after I put dry gas in it. Any suggestions
from anyone who may have had similar problems?

Its possible the manifold may have cracked. Try spraying a little carb cleaner around the manifold and where it seals to the head and carb while its running. It will pick up a bit if there is a leak. If it is leaking, it will not straighten out no matter what you do to the carb or ignition. Brian

You might check the point gap real close and also that the point aren't worn uneven and your not getting a hot enough spark because the entire point is not making contact.

Have you checked all of the plugs by attaching a timing light to each wire to see if it flashes?

If they all spark/flash, then while the engine is running, pull off a wire to see if the engine starts running rougher, stick it back on and pull the next wire off. The cylinder with the least change in RPM will be the one to look at.

Check the compression on your cylinders.
If any are low to nil, take a chance first on valve adjustment, however, you may have a torched valve.

If compression is fine, the spark is fine, and your unable to track down a single cylinder (they all have a large rpm drop when pulling the plug wire off) then make sure your carb is not clogged.

The fuel you used will not cause the ignition to fail unless it fouls a plug, but you changed the plugs. However, fuel may have water in it, or its HOT fuel. Perform the above checks and it will tell you real quick what the problem is.

I have WD45 that had a miss on #4 cyclinder, after a $150.00 in parts it turned out to be in the carb adjustment. Hope this helps.
