I've looked into 3pt hitch kits for my WD from Norm's, Saginaw, and work saver. Has anybody tried any of these on an allis? Which one do you like? art

There's one for sale at the auction portion of this site. Looks like a C&D model. The first thing you need to decide is if you're still want to be able to use Snap-Coupler implements. Some of the adapters make it pretty tough to change back, whereas others simply attach like a Snap-coupler implement. The other issue with WD's is the top link bracket. A search of this site or ww.allis-chalmers.com should come up with considerable past discussion of hitch conversions.

Be careful, try to get a picture or drawing. I'm not sure about the places you mentioned, however some of these kits are a joke. I looked at several my buddies bought for their Allis and they were very disappointed.

They are not upset for there workability, but more of the craftsmanship and materials. Some looked like a setup built in one back yard out of scrap.

With this in mind, I figured I could build one just as good. (I did this weekend). Although
mine is rather different, it serves the purpose and is plenty strong. I used 1-1/2" schedule 80 pipe with 3/4" steel plates welded to each end which houses the swivel ball. My lift arms tie to the drawbar pin under the tractor so the arms are about 50" long. I Picked up around 3000# with it to test it and it did not flex one bit.

If you run across a good dependable 3 pt conversion please post the links so I can look at them. I will by a professionally built one if I find one.
