The tractor I have picks up a large 5ft round bale just fine. The problem is after 2 moves the fluid seems to want to foam up and the tractor will not pick up another until you change the fluid. I have gone from transhydraulic to 30 wt non detergent oil. This is a tractor that I just bought and I do not know the history. Does anyone have a solution to my problem?

If these things (other posting before this one) do not solve your problem have the pump checked for flow and preasure after these suggestions have been exicuted and nothing has been gained, There are two posibilities that come to mind here, One is that the pump is getting air from a leak on the suction side, Observe the lines and gaskets in that part of the system-That is every thing between the pump and the tank on that side. The other (actualy both cause cavitaton) is cavitation, A worn pump could be causing cavitation, Posibly a seal alowing air to enter on the suction side,This could be a O-ring between the pump halves but seldom is, which some how will cause foaming and do as you have said here is happening in this system. Moisture can do this too. As moisture under preasure makes heat and causes steam which is seen as air or foam also. Happy hunting-- Mr.B

I would start with a switch to AGCO 821, or an oil that meets 821 requirements. Then I'd make sure you had it full. After that, I'm out of ideas. Thats a very sophisticated system that AC had, and the right oil might make the difference.

BE SURE TO FLUSH THE SYSTEM REAL WELL TO BE SURE ITS NOT JUST A PARTICLE IN THE WORKS...USE A NON DETERGENT HYD OIL AND GOOD LUCK...ALSO IT IS RELATIVELY EASY TO REMOVE AND SOAK THE PUMP TO ASSURE CLEANLINESS...MARK
