When I was a boy I baled hay for a neighbor for about 10 yrs. I'm now much older and needless to say Melvin has gone on to better things. Some of my fonder memories of Melvin consisted of a Allis Chalmers B that we used in the hay. Now Melvins son in law is considering selling the B and I would entertain purchasing it. The problem is the motor is stuck and the tires are in need of replacing the tin work is in good condition as it has been sitting inside for about 10 yrs without running. My question is, what is a fair price? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

CJJ

Thank you to everyone who responded. I should tell you that Melvins son in law wants me to have the tractor but will only accept a fair price. I explained that he should tell me what he wants for the B and that I would pay it. He didn't want to over charge me so we decided to take the average to the responses off this forum. Again thanks for the help.

You really can not put a price on something that has sentimental value to you.Go ahead and buy the B , and then later if you decide it really isn't as sentimental to you as you first thought , then sell it.If someone else buys it before you,you will be SOL.

Mine was $325. It is straight, everything works fine, and is in desperate need of back tires.
