Wd45 clutch adjustment procedure update

ok guys, thanks again for your help, it is nice to find a place like this. at the suggestion of a couple of people, I started it in gear and held the clutch and break at the same time, and it released finally, was still trying to pull it a little, but would at least stop the tractor. I hooked my bush hog up after driving it for a little bit, made two 30' passes and the clutch locked up again, this time the breaks wont even hold it back ( old girl got some hp ). got under it and looked the clutch assy over again and I see the adjusters on the fingers, and there is almost 3/4 of an inch space between the throw out bearing and the fingers. I also found that 3 of the lock nuts were loose. what is the proper procedure to adjust this? do I back the threaded linkage of the clutch pedal back to where I have the full range of motion and the adjust the fingers to 1/4" gap? and how do you adjust the fingers? does the jam nut do it or does the bolt do it? again thanks for your help on this, I have never messed with a clutch on one of these so this is a new experience, know every inch of the engine and electrical, but the clutch has never been touched. It was mentioned about a piece being broke off in it, I havent ran her in 2 months and when I parked it it was doing fine, I figure moisture is the likely cause, but while I am there, it needs a good adjustment.....thanks guys and gals..... .

The bolt is the adjustment,and these have to be all set at an even plane for the release bearing to apply even pressure on the fingers. If one finger adjust bolt is to far in or out this puts an uneven load on the release bearing and will wear out the bearing faster and also will allow uneven wear on the clutch disc. I would use a machinest scale and adjust the bolts or a small set of calipers if you can get them in there, and with all pressure off of the plate, adjust the bolts, lock the jam nuts maybe even using locktight. Then adjust the clutch rod for your clearences.
