I have come across an AC,Tractor that is simular to a cub in size. All I have is the serial# B16618.I was wondering if anyone could tell me what year and model it is. It has a new motor in it and it is in great shape. Also what is it worth? Thanks, Mitch

Mitch,
Yup, it's a B. The B is actually quite a bit larger than a Cub. More like a Farmall A or B. The B is a 1 row tractor, 116 Cubic inch engine and about 15 drawbar HP (vs. 8.75 HP for the Cub). It will pull a one bottom plow, a small disk or cultivate one row at a time. The only thing wrong with a B is that they can be difficult to get on and off of compared to other brands of comparable size. I have both an A-C B and a Farmall B and the Farmall is much easier to get on and off of for a short, fat, old guy.

When I was a kid, my father had a '41 "B". It was an EXCELLENT tractor. Besides that, if she were a woman, you'd have to call her beautiful! Phil, my dad kept the plow attaching bar on the tractor whenever he could. Not only does it make a great step for getting on the tractor, but both my brother and I used to stand on it when dad was going to and from the fields.

Brian,
Problem is, I don't have one of those! My body won't bend like it used to and the seat is kinda a long way off the ground for me. :o)

You have found a 1939 Allis Chalmers model B. If it is in the shape you describe it should be worth $900.00 to $1500.00.
