thanks in advance for the info to anyone who can help. I have a wd45 ( gas ), when I got on her yesterday, the foot clutch ( engine clutch ) wont release. what is the proper adjustment procedure for this clutch? there is a threaded rod at the base of the pedal, then a nut and bolt like the one holding the starter on at the bottom of the linkage at the bell housing, and another like that at the conection to the throw out bearing. My throw out bearing is moving and the arms on the pres. plate are also. It may be that the plate is just stuck, but it has been needing adjustment for quite a while now, the pedal hits the stops just befor it is off quite enough. Thanks in advance for any help..... ..... .

D.,
If you can get the tractor started, try driving it around with the clutch depressed. Sounds like the disc is stuck to the flywheel. Adjusting the rod to make it shorter should release the pressure plate sooner, just be sure to leave the proper freeplay in the pedal.

also, adding to the post, the threaded rod at the pedal wont do any good because the arm hits the stops befor it kicks completly out so I need to adjust it from the inside..... thanks again.....

Engine clutch should have 1/2" to 1" free travel when measured between the pedal and top of the frame rail. This amount of free travel should give you about 1/4" between the release bearing and face of the pressure plate fingers. The adjustment is made by turning the threaded pivot pin on the clutch rod from the pedel arm to the release arm. You can call Central Tractor in De Moines Iowa at 1-888-828-3276 and they have repair manuals also new and used parts for older tractors. I get all my WD45 parts from them
