Looking for information on 3point hitch parts, etc. for WD45. Have some parts, not sure how to hook up, particularly the top arm. How is top arm supposed to connect to tractor. Is there a special fitting.

Also need lights and fenders.

Hopefully you realize that WD's did not come from the factory with 3 point hitch and that you need a adapter to use 3 point implements (there are any number of these of various design on the market).

The Snap-Coupler to 3 point adapters made by Allis Chalmers offered two different ways to deal with the top link. For draft implements they angled the top link down to attach to a cross-bar between the lower lift arms. This more or less converted the 3-point implement to a Snap-coupler implement and kept the draft load all on the draft sensitive (Traction Booster system) Snap-Coupler bell. For PTO implements (or if you wanted parallel lift for a blade or rake or whatever) AC made a bracket that clamped around the center of the lift shaft between the upper lift arms. This bracket was used for both the WD and CA and would also work on early D-10/12. This bracket is not available from AGCO anymore. I had one made similar for my Series II D-12, but had to modifiy the design to clear the hydraulic pump on these latter D-10/12. For D-10/12 with factory 3-point hitches, AC just welded two "ears" to the lift shaft. After what it cost me to have a clamping bracket machined, I would suggest the welded "ear" approach is the best, as long as you can do it without warping the lift shaft.

I HAD 2 EAR TYPE CONNECTIONS WELDED ON MY SHAFT BETWEEN THE LIFT ARMS. I THINK IT WORKS GREAT

I clamped 2 split clamps (industrial bearing supply) to the lift shaft and bent a piece of 2" by 1/2" thick bar stock so that it would act as a flat clevis around the lift shaft sandwiched between the clamps. I then put a pin through 3/4" holes to hold one end of the top link of the 3 Pt system. Works very well and the clamps keep the clevis from moving sideways.

Dave, this is one of many reasons I like these discussion forums so much. Different people approach problems in their own unique way and sometimes the resulting solutions are just short of brilliant. I have both versions of the A-C retofit 3-point hitches. The factory built top-link clamp is real nice, but short of finding one of those, your idea is the best I've seen. It's simple to make, requires no welding and I can imagine with a little orange paint is pleasing to the eye as well. There have been a lot of inquiries here about improvising that top-link bracket. I hope everyone picks up on your idea. It's great!
