i have got an Allis Chambers B, 1938, which is in very good condition and has just had new tyres. I was wondering if anybody might know its value.

John,
I bought a '40 about a year ago for $1400 that had an overhaul and rebuilt mag with new tires and the adjustable WFE and rear wheel weights. Needs paint and some minor dings fixed. A completely restored one with electric start and a nice Continental Belton belly mower was being shown by a local dealer for $3300. Way too much, but it disappeared later. I don't know what it sold for or if the consignor took it back. Here in central Tx. one in the condition you described would probably sell for $1000-$1500. On the high end for new paint/decals and fair tires, possibly $1750 for completely restored with new tires.

For what you are saying then your (B) should bring around $1200/$1400, and with a Belly mower you sh0uld get between $200 to $2500 .

The value varies with location. In my area a good looking and running B would bring from $850 to $1200.
